US Senate Select Committee: the US is interested to invest in Ethiopia’s Science Technology and Innovation sector

Ministry of Innovation and Technology held discussion with delegates of Professional Staff Members of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence lead by H.E. Mr. David Renz Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy.

The discussion/consultation focuses on opportunities to collaborate in the Innovation and Technology sector.

The discussion also covers areas that the impact of the collaboration of the Technology and innovation institutions of the two countries on the economy of the African continent.

The delegation was briefed on the accomplishments of the Ethiopian Economic reform agenda which has been carried out for the last three years.

The briefing has also covers Ethiopia’s efforts in building the Digital Economy, Digital Transformation plan and Science Technology and Innovation Policy.

Dr. Ahmedin Mohamed, State Minister to Ministry of Innovation and Technology expressed Ethiopia’s interest to collaborate with the U.S. on innovation and Technology.

The state minister also called for American Companies to invest in Ethiopia.

Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. David Renz on his part said, American Companies are keen to invest in Ethiopia especially in Innovation and Technology.

At a meeting held at the Ministry’s offices in Addis Ababa, the delegates discussed broader areas of collaboration between the two countries and future plans
